In a funny way, the inspiration for Bellflower Creations came from a ceramics class years ago. After many years as a professional cellist, I was looking for a different creative outlet and tried my hand at hand-building. The results were less than stellar- a pot that bore a resemblance more to a flower bulb than a glorious pot. But it cried out for something more, and I imagined chimes growing from it. That’s when the creative juices began to flow, and after a few years of learning how to work with wire and metal, I had my chimes.
Each leaf begins with a sheet of bright copper. I color it by heat and forge it by hand to give it form and texture. I love how copper darkens and takes on a dappled appearance after a light salt wash, so you will find much of my work is uncoated and lets Mother Nature have a hand. The patina leaves on Hanging Bellflower Chimes are an exception, as are the new Luna Chimes with their Variegated Leaves.
In the beginning I only worked with the brighter colors of jewelry wire for the flowers and enjoyed its brilliance. But I always craved a more natural, softer look and was finally able to produce some patinas of which I could be proud. It is a lot of fun watching each piece come out with its own little personality.

You won’t find me on social media much. Guess I’m a little old-school that way. But I’m here, keeping my head down and working away! If you’d like to get in touch please drop me a line.
